Formerly known as the Scottish Record Office, The National Archives of Scotland is responsible for preserving and making available to the public the historical records of Scotland spanning the 12th to 20th Centuries.
It also advises Scottish government departments, institutions, businesses and private individuals on the care of their records.
The imposing Register House which was designed by Robert Adam in 1774.
